Clare Norelle, a registered yoga teacher, would like to offer free weekly hatha yoga classes for veterans. If there’s interest, the focus of the classes could be on releasing tension; improving strength, flexibility, and overall health; and cultivating a sense of inner peace and balance.
Wednesdays, September 9th – October 28th 2009: Hatha Yoga & Yin Yoga
Drop-in donation-based classes: come when you can & pay what you can (free for soldiers and veterans)
10 – 10:50 am, Hatha Yoga
In a friendly setting stretch and strengthen your body and mind with a balanced combination of classic hatha postures and breathing techniques, adapted to individual needs and abilities.
12 noon – 12:50 pm, Yin Yoga
Enjoy a peaceful, meditative practice of long-held passive poses that gently stretch the connective tissue of the body, improving body-awareness, flexibility, and energy.
Both classes are held on the first floor of the The Crossing, at 1127 University Ave., on the corner of Charter and University in Madison. This is easily accessed by many buses (and bike…if you’re cold-hardy); otherwise, the nearest parking lot is at 975 University, under Grainger Hall.
